Short version: we keep an email, what you need for your trips, and nothing we don't need.

Who we are

Where Hot Boys Go (“we”) runs wherehotboysgo.com, a travel and events guide for gay men aged 18 and over. We are based in the European Union and act as the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: privacy@wherehotboysgo.com.

What we collect

  • Account: your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Meta, the name, email and profile picture those services share with us. We never see your passwords for those services.
  • Club emails: whether you want ticket drops, presales and new-city news. You can opt out at any time from your account or from any email.
  • Trip Check: the trips and checklists you create.
  • Purchases: when you buy the Event Trip Planner, our payment provider Paddle processes your payment as merchant of record. We receive the transaction id, status, amount and your email; we never store card details.
  • Technical: a session cookie to keep you signed in, and standard server logs (IP address, browser) kept for security for up to 30 days.

Why (legal bases)

To run your account and Trip Check (contract). To send club emails you asked for (consent). To keep the site safe and to comply with the law (legitimate interest and legal obligation). To process purchases (contract).

Who helps us

Neon (database, EU), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), Paddle (payments), Google and Meta (sign-in, only if you choose them). Each processes data on our instructions under a data processing agreement. Partner hotels receive nothing from us; if you book through a partner link, their own privacy policy applies.

Cookies

We use one strictly necessary cookie for your session. No advertising cookies, no third-party trackers.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, and object to or restrict processing. Delete your account from your account page or email us. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Retention

Account data stays while your account exists and is deleted within 30 days of you closing it. Purchase records are kept as long as tax law requires.

Adults only

The club is for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if we learn we have, we delete it.
